1/350th Quad 1.1" Chicago Pianos

I have been looking for the best representation of these guns in 1/350th for nearly twenty years of modeling WWII USN warships. The available pieces have certainly evolved over time. I will not use names recognizing the manufacturers did the best they could with the time and technology available to them at that time. I have seen white metal bases with P/E barrels, entire P/E assemblies with flat barrels, entirely resin (with lots of air bubbles and broken barrels, to excellent resin bases and P/E add-on parts.
Carl's current product blows them all away, something that, in all fairness, the original weapon might have come up short at doing. It is a wonder to behold. Let it be known that I am not one to waste compliments on everything in sight.
Beyond the excellence of the product, Carl has put thought in how the product is safely packaged for shipping, and even at that, includes an additional unit to ensure the purchaser gets the four units promised. What's not to love?
I did find one drawback that I hope Carl will address as fast as possible. These guns used clipped ammo. A properly mounted unit should have ammo clips in racks on the gun tubs if the gun is in, or about to be in action. Carl - get hot! These clips with all their detail should be a piece of cake for you. You can't use the "They're in the ready service locker" dodge as you can with your 20mm models.
In closing, I have bought a number of 1/350 light AA guns from Carl in the last few months. I am impressed by them all.
